Some stories only get told once.

Megilla helps the people you love tell their life story on video, one question at a time. We turn it into a beautiful documentary film your family will keep forever.

You’ve had this moment.

They start telling a story you've never heard, and you think: I should be recording this.

But you don't. The moment passes, and what disappears is more than the story itself. You lose the sound of their voice, the characteristic expressions, the pauses, the laughter… the little things that make their life uniquely memorable.

This isn’t a “someday” project. Years from now, THIS is the thing your family watches with full hearts and gratitude that you didn’t wait.

Simple enough for everyone.

1.

You set it up, in a few minutes.

Tell us a little about your family member and invite family & friends to contribute questions. We’ll keep you posted by text along the way, and only about your gift. We handle everything else.

2.

They tell their story.

Twenty-five personalized questions, one at a time, on the phone they already own. They press a button, talk, record video — that’s it. No app. No passwords. If they can Facetime they can do this.

3.

You receive their film.

Professionally edited. Your family gets a film for generations to come.

More than one voice. A family’s memory.

Before they begin, anyone who loves them can ask a question: a grandchild, a sibling, an old friend. Questions can be written or recorded on video, so they see the face of the person asking. Every question is woven into your film.

Their story, shaped by everyone who loves them and wants to know more.

Telling their story is positive mental health, too.

Researchers have long studied reminiscence and life review therapy, the process of reflecting on and sharing one’s life story. Evidence suggests it can improve mood, strengthen social connection, support cognitive function, and, perhaps most powerfully, reinforce a deep sense that one’s life has meaning and has mattered.

Being asked good questions and truly listened to is rare. Megilla gives them both.

Why I built Megilla.

My dad died before my kids were born. They'll never hear nor see him tell his own story.

We have photographs and shaky phone videos, but nothing that shows who he really was, in his own words, with his own laugh, wisdom and personality.

I built Megilla so your family never has to say “we should have recorded that”.

Connecting generations, for generations.
