How Megilla Uses Text Messages

Megilla Co. sends text messages only about a Megilla gift. We never send marketing or promotional texts, and we never share your mobile number or texting consent with third parties.

Who receives texts, and how they agree

1. Gifters (the person giving the gift) agree to texts when they request an invite at megilla.com/request-an-invite or sign in to their gift with their phone number.

2. Storytellers and contributors are invited personally by the gifter, not by Megilla. The gifter shares a private gift link from their own phone, by text message, WhatsApp, or email. Megilla does not send invitation texts.

3. Megilla texts a storyteller or contributor only if they choose to, by checking an unchecked “Yes, text me reminders” box on their gift page. Without that box checked, they receive no texts from Megilla.

What we send

• Sign-in links

• Reminders to record answers or add a question

• Progress updates for the gifter

• Notice that the finished film is ready

Message frequency may vary. Most people receive a handful of messages over the course of a gift. Message and data rates may apply.

Example messages

• “Megilla: Hi [Name], your next question from [Gifter name] is ready whenever you are: [link] Reply STOP to opt out.”

• "Megilla: [Storyteller name] just recorded story 5 of 25! Reply STOP to opt out."

Opt out or get help

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. You'll get one confirmation and no further messages. Reply HELP for help, or email help@megilla.com.
